WestCol’s Stream Fighters 4 rivaled Ibai’s La Velada Del Año V in chat activity and engagement

Livestreaming sensation Luis “WestCol” Villa recently broke records on Kick with the fourth edition of his Stream Fighters boxing series. Stream Fighters 4 received millions of viewers, setting new personal bests for WestCol and also a new all-time peak record for Kick. Breaking down the action with our latest updates, Streams Charts can now take a look through the Kick chat data for streamers in our database — and YouTube Live, too!

Held on October 18, Stream Fighters 4 featured six bouts of boxing with some of Latin America’s most famous celebrities and media personalities, alongside many other well-known faces as part of the production or hosting concerts and events between fights. The event was one of the most popular livestreamed events of the year, outperforming even some highly popular football matches and other mainstream events.

In total, more than 155,000 messages were recorded in WestCol’s Kick chat on the day of the fights. Tens of thousands of passionate WestCol fans followed the event, as well as many curious onlookers or fans of competing influencers who tuned in. Altogether, over 80,000 active chatters were recorded during the broadcasts.

Throughout the weigh-in and main fight, Westcol’s chat maintained a chatters-to-viewers ratio of 0.3%. While this may seem low, these high-production events often attract a wide amount of viewers, many of whom quickly drop by or passively watch the broadcast. Due to this, and exacerbated by massive audience size, low chatters-to-viewers ratios are normal for this kind of stream.

With the power of our new Kick chat data, Streams Charts can also explore the most exciting moments of WestCol’s Stream Fighters 4, decided by his own chat. By tracking messages per minute and combing the data for top moments, we have selected some of the top moments of the event.

According to the wave of activity in chat, Micaela “Milica” Ybañez vs May Osorio was the top fight of the night, which went all three rounds. The fight between Milica, an Argentinian streamer, and Colombian influencer May Osorio was one of the opening fights of the night and did not disappoint, with Milica being awarded a Unanimous Decision by the judges for her efforts.

Other top moments of the event included WestCol addressing the crowd and his fans between fights, the opening instant, when the ring lit up and things started to kick off, and red carpet interviews featuring fighters.

Recently, Streams Charts updated our Chat Analytics product to cover Kick and YouTube Live. Our upgraded product lets users track keywords, brand mentions, and explore engagement and chat analytics for streamers on these global platforms. The Chat Analytics add-on for the Streams Charts PRO subscription includes advanced data options to track chatter activity and analyze viewer sentiment and engagement.

Of course, WestCol’s Stream Fighters series was inspired by Spanish content titan and livestreamer Ibai Llanos and his La Velada Del Año, which just finished its fifth edition this year. Highlighting how Kick and Twitch chats could potentially differ for media boxing events, Streams Charts compared the chats of ibai and WestCol for La Velada Del Año V and Stream Fighters 4.

Stream Fighter 4 and La Velada del Año V chat activity comparison

Between the two chats on Kick and Twitch, both ibai and WestCol recorded 1.9 Messages per Chatter for their respective media boxing events this year. While ibai did record stronger metrics thanks to his much larger audience size, WestCol’s following on Kick put up a strong result, comparatively; ibai’s Active Chatters metric for La Velada Del Año V was only 85% higher than WestCol’s Stream Fighter 4 result, despite his Average Viewers metric being over 220% higher.

WestCol’s chat on Kick remained engaged and active throughout Stream Fighters 4, giving ibai’s international phenomenon a run for its money. As both events continue to grow and push the boundaries of their respective platforms, Stream Fighters could yet challenge La Velada Del Año in terms of viewership and audience engagement in the future.

Stream Fighters 4 was a landmark moment for both WestCol and Kick. The event’s massive reach and record-breaking engagement underline how these creator-led, high-production events are thriving and competing with traditional broadcast entertainment. With the millions of viewers and tens of thousands of active chatters, WestCol’s latest spectacle spells only good fortunes for his upcoming endeavors.
