Esports World Cup fever takes over YouTube Gaming in July 2025

Esports World Cup fever takes over YouTube Gaming in July 2025
Share:

In July 2025, many mid-season esports events took place, alongside the start of the second edition of the lucrative Esports World Cup, so the focus among YouTube Gaming channels remained on the competitive segment last month. Like the June 2025 rankings, a few popular video gaming showcases made their way into the top ten monthly rankings, with one even topping the peak concurrent viewership rankings.

League of Legends and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang usually sit atop these lists, and it was no different this time around. After ceding to its mobile competitor over the last few months, Riot Games' MOBA returned to the top of the pile thanks to multiple big-ticket events like the LCK 2025 Season, Esports World Cup 2025 for LoL, and Mid-Season Invitational 2025.

Esports' prevalence in July 2025 was also seen among the top streamers, with many of them being prominent community casters. VTubers took a backseat despite many of the most-watched names enjoying increased activity across these 31 days.

The most popular YouTube Gaming channel among organizations last month was the official Pokémon YouTube channel, which edged the official LCK channel. These were the only two names to cross 600,000 Peak Viewers (PV) in July 2025, with the Japanese media company's high coming during the Pokémon Presents livestream on July 22, revealing details about multiple upcoming games, the anime, and the 2025 Pokémon World Championships.

Meanwhile, the LCK channel hit its peak during the MSI 2025 Finals between Korean powerhouses Gen.G and T1, which the former edged 3:2 to win a second straight mid-season title.

Competitive LoL also had two Vietnamese organizations' channels, LoL Esports VN and F Esports, on this table. The former is the official broadcaster for Riot Games in the Southeast Asian nation, while the latter is one of the renowned esports information channels in Vietnam that livestreams games related to teams from the country.

MLBB had one representative, MPL Indonesia, the official channel for all things related to the mobile MOBA in the game's largest market. The event created records due to a favorable Grand Final between RRQ Hoshi, the title's most popular side, and ONIC Esports, one of Indonesia's most successful and consistent teams.

Arena of Valor found a place here due to the Liên Quân Mobile eSports-Garena YouTube channel that covered the successful Arena of Valor Premier League 2025. It was joined by the official Nijisanji handle that reached 230,964 PV during Nijisanji Koshien 2025 Main Tournament.

A couple of other video gaming-related livestream made the cut, with Nintendo of America in the top five via its Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. It was joined by the official Monster Strike channel that peaked at 315,866 viewers during the Dreamdaze III broadcast on July 13.

When looking at the most-watched organization channels, a lot of names from above find places in this top ten as well. LCK was the only one to reach 10 million Hours Watched (HW), while the presence of LoL Esports, Esports World Cup, LoL Esports VN, and LoLEsportsTW showcased just how sought-after the PC MOBA is within the global audience.

Garena RoV Thailand joined Liên Quân Mobile eSports-Garena as channels that cover AoV esports, with the game's popularity in the SEA region especially worth mentioning. ESL Counter-Strike brings the shooter genre into play as demand for its livestreams of the IEM Cologne 2025 and the ESL Pro League Season 22 Closed Qualifiers proved why Counter-Strike remains such a draw among worldwide esports audiences.

Darren "IShowSpeed" Watkins Jr. was the most popular streamer again as his second European tour garnered much attention. He was joined on the podium by Call of Duty: Warzone specialist Tyler "TeeP" Polchow — known for his rank pushing broadcasts — and l1wenFN, the popular Fortnite content creator from Germany.

The Western flavor gets some spice in the form of Alexandre "Gaules" Borba, the iconic Brazilian CS creator and co-caster who was busy last month covering various competitions. He is joined by another renowned caster for MLBB, Myanmar's Zay "ZyZyy" Yar Soe and Phạm "ZerosStream" Minh Lộc, the former Vietnamese League of Legends professional player turned content creator.

Star Indonesian MLBB creator Ade "set1awanade" Setiawan Pamungkas finds a place as well, alongside fellow SEA streamer Hoàng Luân, who mainly concentrated on LoL in July 2025. These rankings were rounded off by a bunch of Indian streamers — Optron Gaming and Snax Gaming — as they covered PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile at the EWC 2025.

Moving to the rankings based on monthly watch time, IShowSpeed comes out on top. He is followed by Robert "BobbyPoffGaming" Poffenbarger, the former Blackout player ranked number one for kills and wins, and a three-time Warzone champion, who continues growing as a creator on YouTube Gaming.

BaianoTV, the esports co-casting channel of popular Brazilian former LoL pro Gustavo "Baiano" Gomes, also makes the podium. He is joined by Virtual YouTuber Pekora Ch. and other globally renowned internet stars like America's Timothy "TimTheTatman" Betar and Brando "Windah Basudara" Franco Windah from Indonesia.
