The new year has already seen quite a few coveted awards functions come and go, with prominent names and upcoming online stars feted for their performances in 2023. Among these shows were the Premios ESLAND 2024 and The Streamer Awards 2024, two of the calendar year's biggest nights for content creators and the industry.
There were also discipline and event-specific felicitation ceremonies like the HLTV Award Show 2023, The Game Awards 2023, the Esports Awards 2023, and the LCK Awards 2023 held in and around the new year. Then there was the streaming presentation that rewarded VTubers and the one by the popular streamer organization, the OTK Game Awards.
All these events have ensured that those players, teams, organizations, influencers, and organizers who put in the effort throughout the year are awarded for their excellence. From talent organizations to underground streamers, the awards ceremony celebrated all kinds of virtual live broadcasters, helping it register 68.9 Peak Viewers.
Most popular award shows created by streamers
Many award shows get repeated on this top ten list, reiterating their popularity globally and among their target audiences. First up is the Stream Legends Awards of the Year (SLAY) awards show hosted by popular Russian broadcaster Buster, with the first version being held on December 18, 2023, in Moscow to celebrate the community in his country. It did 214.6K PV, with Bratishkinoff and GENSYXA emerging as the coveted Streamer of the Year winners in the male and female categories, respectively.
Next comes the Coscu Army Awards, held for Argentine streamers by Coscu and currently one of the biggest such shows to emanate from South America. Across the six editions so far, different personalities like ElSpreen, Grafo, Davooxeneize, and Momoladinastia have been bestowed with the prestigious Streamer of the Year gong. Its most popular edition was in 2020 with 394.6K PV when Pimpeano claimed the above honor.
The Streamer Awards comes next, with this highly followed awards ceremony created and hosted by QTCinderella to fete creators from all over the world. Last year's iteration capped Kai Cenat's meteoric rise by giving him the Streamer of the Year gong while TenZ was Gamer of the Year. However, it was the 2024 ceremony at 645.1K PV that turned out to be a record-breaking one, with Kai Cenat retaining his Streamer of the Year prize even as close friend Jynxzi rubber-stamped his entry into the big time with a win in the Gamer of the Year category.
Lastly, we come to the undisputed leader of the content creator-led award shows, the Premios ESLAND. Created and hosted by one of the biggest Spanish-speaking content creators, TheGrefg, it has been running for three years. The star this year was IlloJuan, who pocketed the Streamer of the Year and Variety Streamer of the Year prizes, although the most popular iteration was in 2023 when it registered 1.75M PV.
