March was a big month for YouTube Gaming, with major showcases, game announcements, and esports driving viewership. Nintendo’s official channels led the way, while a Japanese VTuber topped the streamer rankings. Streams Charts takes a closer look at who else made the list thanks to viral content.
March and early April have been dominated by Nintendo on YouTube Gaming. Just yesterday, the company unveiled the Switch 2 in a record-breaking showcase, the biggest gaming event in five years! But even before that, Nintendo had a strong presence, with a late-March Nintendo Direct highlighting upcoming games and updates. Two of its channels ended up leading March’s viewership charts.
Closing out the top three was the official YouTube channel of MPL Indonesia, the mobile esports league that launched in March. As one of the season’s biggest esports events, it kicked off with impressive viewership and quickly climbed YouTube’s rankings.
Starting this year, Minecraft Live will be held twice instead of just once annually. The first of these showcases was a hit with viewers, even surpassing last year’s event in audience size. The game’s official channel nearly hit 400,000 concurrent viewers at peak viewership.

Closing out the top five was the Capcom Channel, which gained traction thanks to a post-launch showcase for Monster Hunter Wilds in March. The event generated major buzz, and with the game already positioning itself as a strong Game of the Year contender, the hype was well-earned.
The rest of the rankings were entirely dominated by esports channels, with mobile titles outperforming PC games on YouTube Gaming. Streams of Battlegrounds Mobile India, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Arena of Valor attracted larger audiences than Valorant and Counter-Strike.
Among streamers, the biggest headline-maker of the month was Shion Murasaki (紫咲シオン). In early March, she held a special livestream to announce her departure from Hololive, citing creative differences with the team. Though the broadcast lasted just eight minutes, it drew nearly 300,000 concurrent viewers.

It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. is the true face of YouTube Live right now. In March, he played in the highly anticipated Sidemen charity football match, made a guest appearance on CBS alongside Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards, and capped off the month with an ongoing tour in China. His most viral moment came during the Sidemen match, where he finally scored a goal.
No other streamer in the rankings crossed the 200,000 concurrent viewers mark. The list was largely dominated by mobile gaming creators, particularly from PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends, alongside VTubers. One standout was Phung "MixiGaming" Thanh, a Vietnamese star who primarily streams on Nimo, yet still secured a top 10 spot.
Across the entire platform, the top performer of March was Brazilian football commentator and content creator Casimiro "CazéTV" Miguel, who achieved one of the highest viewerships in YouTube history during the match between Corinthians and Palmeiras. Read more about this here.
