With esports taking a front seat over the last two months, it is no surprise that among overall YouTube Gaming channels, a majority of the most watched names came from this sphere. Once again, League of Legends and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang had multiple entries in the top ten leaderboard, but two shooters — Valorant and Apex Legends — also made their presence felt.

Top YouTube Gaming channels in August 2024

After losing out to LoL in last month's rankings, MLBB came back swiftly to grab the top position in August's leaderboard. With the latest season of the MLBB Professional League ongoing across the world, the MPL Indonesia YouTube channel has been busy covering the game's most successful and followed regional event.

LoL was not to be left far behind, with the LCK YouTube channel that covers the various matches of the game's most successful regional league coming in second. With Gen.G Esports in the Grand Final and T1 set to play in the Lower Bracket Final, there is a chance records could tumble if the two heavyweights meet yet again in the title decider.

July's topper, IShowSpeed, could only finish third last month despite continuing to increase his on-air time. Of course, his main viewership came from his incredibly successful hardcore Minecraft marathon alongside good friend and Twitch megastar Kai Cenat. The duo spent over 105 hours and 42 attempts to defeat the Ender Dragon, with the 18.8M Hours Watched they touched (of which Speed contributed 6.7M HW) across both channels helping the entire exercise rival some top esports tournaments and other notable events

The official Valorant Champions Tour channel is fourth with 5.76M HW thanks to the game's biggest event, the Valorant Champions 2024, running across the month. While not record-breaking in terms of overall viewership records, it hit the highest audience reach in Valorant's history on YouTube, led by increased activity on Asian channels as a Chinese side went the distance a year after the title's release in the country.

Fifth is Liên Quân Mobile eSports-Garena, the official esports channel for the Vietnamese version of Arena of Valor. It saw a 154% rise in its monthly watch time to reach 4.90M HW, led by the Arena of Glory Winter 2024, the country's top professional league. It will run till the end of October, with the winner winning a slot at the Arena of Valor International Championship 2024.

Three more official esports channels made the cut for this top ten leaderboard, led by the sixth-placed Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Indonesia, also covering the MPL Indonesia Season 14. There is also the official Vietnamese channel for South Korea's top LoL championship, the LCK Tiếng Việt, in eighth. ESL Counter-Strike follows in tenth thanks to coverage of the IEM Cologne 2024 — which ended as the second most-watched Counter-Strike tournament of the year — and the qualifier events for October's Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024.

Apex Legends owed its 213% rise in monthly watch time from July and top ten games appearance in August thanks to Kuzuha Channel, who took a lot of interest in the game after the release of its new season and preceding event. There was also Indonesia's set1awanade, who streamed a lot of action from the country's latest MPL season and played a lot of the game that has become a sensation on Twitch, Black Myth: Wukong.

With the top name making the overall list as well, we move to second place, which is taken by Typical Gamer. He is known to play a variety of games and upload a lot of sponsored content as his audience reach is usually wide. The Canadian star spent most of August playing Fortnite and participating in its various events, including Cash Cups and the Chapter 5 Season 3 live event, in preparation for the new season that dropped on August 16.

Ludwig takes the third position with 1.36M HW, climbing up two spots from the July rankings. He mainly focused on the upcoming platformer Rivals 2, whose developer Aether Studios has partnered with Offbrand Games as they look to co-publish the sequel to the highly successful 2015 indie game, Rivals of Aether. Offbrand Games has Ludwig as one of its co-creators, and he ensured to play the game, in its beta phase right now, regularly in August.

TimTheTatman, who finished second in July, had to settle for fourth in the latest rankings Most of his time last was spent playing Call of Duty, an experience he is very familiar with having made his name playing the series' various previous offerings. He also gave viewers glimpses of what they can expect from the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops 6 by sharing his gameplay of its Early Access, which ends on September 4. Interestingly, he recently became one of the biggest American influencers to come out of their exclusive contracts, returning to Twitch via multistreaming alongside DrLupo. His first stream back attracted over 31,700 viewers, meaning his viewership surpassed his YouTube numbers despite his last streaming on the purple platform in August 2021.

Roblox star KreekCraft continued his run as one of North America's top creators this year, hitting 849K HW to finish in the top five last month. He was followed by Nick Eh 30, another Canadian who focused a lot on Fortnite, including playing a lot alongside Typical Gamer as they gave the game a lot of exposure during a busy month.

Swagg, who finished fourth in July, came in seventh in the latest rankings after seeing his online activity drop by 20%. Like TimTheTatman, he played a lot of CoD, including Warzone, the new beta for Black Ops 6, and quite a few tournaments. The FaZe content creator was another from America to rescind his exclusivity contract with YouTube recently, currently focusing exclusively on Twitch.

CouRage and DrLupo are the other two Americans to finish in these top ten standings. The former's content focused on Fortnite while the latter played a lot of Escape from Tarkov. The last Canadian to appear here is ZLANER, a former Call of Duty esports player and content creator for OpTic Gaming who also shared his playthroughs of Warzone and Black Ops 6.

YouTube Gaming Hispanic streamers in August 2024

The top Spanish name is Nexxuz World, who made news recently with his move to live stream on Kick. The popular Spanish YouTuber is known for entertaining videos of renowned titles like GTA V, ARK: Survival Ascended, Elden Ring, and 7 Days to Die. However, he spent most of August playing the survival horror game PANICORE, which mixes permadeath, AI monsters, and a co-op experience of up to five players as urban explorers are drawn to dangerously abandoned places.

Number two is Trebor, a renowned Spanish former professional Brawl Stars player who is now a content creator on the popular multiplayer online battle arena and third-person hero shooter video game. He is succeeded on the podium by another prominent name from the European nation, VEGETTA777, known for content on games like Minecraft, Battlefield, and Saint's Row. However, he spent last month mainly playing Lego Fortnite and Black Myth: Wukong, with the latter taking over Twitch and becoming its most successful video game release this year.

The first non-Spanish name on this list slots into the fourth spot as Mexico's TheHectorino spent a lot of time playing and covering events in Garena Free Fire, with his main activity being to try and reach the Grand Master level in the battle royale shooter. Argentina's Nacho AoE is next, with his unique and engaging content on a classic, Age of Empires 2, earning him lots of fans across Latin America.

Two more Spanish nationals, Taison TV and xFaRgAnx YT, make up the latter half of this top ten leaderboard. The former is an EA Games content creator for the Battlefield community and an ex-translator for the Spanish Battlefield community, while the latter is known for his quirky gameplay videos of titles like Minecraft and Supermarket Together.

Cuñado YT, MatuzCL, and Frank bring more LATAM flavor to these standings, with their content ranging from Free Fire to Fortnite. Peru's Frank is known not to stream much, but when he does, he usually attracts healthy crowds, with his specialty being his diverse videos on the mobile version of EA SPORTS FC.

She played a variety of games last month, but her most watched title was Final Fantasy VIII, with Konami Digital Entertainment Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 coming in a close second thanks to the latest event that saw VTubers go head to head in virtual games of baseball.

India's LoLzZz Gaming is third, with his content continuing to revolve around Battlegrounds Mobile India, one of the biggest esports games in the country. He also held regular live broadcasts where he encouraged viewers to help him reach two million subscribers, with the channel's current number standing at 1.91 million subs.

Two highly-followed Indonesian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang creators, Jonathan Liandi and R7 Tatsumaki, take up the fifth and sixth spots. They are among the two higher-profile influencers covering the ongoing MPL Indonesia Season 14, where they are among the most successful streamers.

Miko Ch., 渋谷ハル (Shibuya HAL), Aqua Ch., and Pekora Ch. round off this leaderboard, making it six out of ten VTubers in the top ten. Their content spanned diverse games, including Minecraft, Black Myth: Wukong, 7 Days to Die, and Apex Legends.

NODWIN also covered the Valorant Champions 2024, with the game enjoying a large following in the Indian subcontinent.

Last but not least is the Garena RoV Thailand channel, which covers the official Arena of Valor events in the Southeast Asian nation. The ongoing RoV Pro League 2024 Winter, which runs till October 1, received the bulk of its attention, with the winner going on to represent the country at the Arena of Valor International Championship 2024.
