Creator broadcasts accounted for 70% of Hours Watched at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, showing how much of a showcase’s audience can gather beyond its official feeds. Q3 2026 gaming showcase viewership: Official broadcasts vs creator coverage
Five of the six showcases can be compared across official and creator broadcasts. Nintendo's September Direct and Zelda anniversary presentation drew most of their viewing through official feeds, while creator channels accounted for the majority at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Future Games Show, and BlizzCon. Opening Night Live led these five events with approximately 3.82 million Hours Watched.

For GTA VI, Streams Charts focused on creator coverage of the gameplay presentation, which generated approximately 2.72 million Hours Watched across tracked livestreams.
Six major Q3 2026 gaming showcases: Viewership and audience reactions
GTA VI gameplay presentation: Creator coverage and chat reactions
GTA VI’s gameplay presentation brought together the widest group of large reaction channels in the comparison, with 51 creator broadcasts averaging more than 10,000 viewers during their coverage. Juan Alberto “IlloJuan” García, Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr, Rubén “Rubius” Doblas and Kai Cenat were among the leading hosts, taking the presentation to communities across several languages.
Twitch creator chats were most active during the opening reveal of Jason, Lucia and the game's graphics, and again during the closing montage and release-date announcement. The finale triggered a 50% increase in chat activity compared with the preceding five minutes.
Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026: Creators delivered 70% of viewing
Creator broadcasts accounted for around 70% of Opening Night Live’s Hours Watched, making third-party coverage central to the show’s distribution. Yet that viewing was widely spread: zackrawrr led a field that also included Erik “GRONKH” Range, Félix “xQc” Lengyel, Xavier “mistermv” Dang and Saqib “LIRIK” Ali Zahid, while the five largest creator channels together contributed only about 15% of creator viewing.
The games that generated the most conversation were not necessarily those that attracted the warmest response. Nodus Fall and Ananta led engagement among the measured segments, and both remained standouts after accounting for audience size. The Witcher 3 Remastered, meanwhile, registered the strongest positive sentiment signal, while Rainbow Six Tactics attracted the highest measured negative share.
Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026: Creator coverage and reveal reactions
Future Games Show drew 84% of its tracked Hours Watched through creator coverage, the highest share among the events with official broadcasts included in the comparison. Flow Games, LIRIK and Ben “CohhCarnage” Cassell were its leading third-party channels. Compared with Opening Night Live, viewing was more concentrated among the largest hosts, with the top five accounting for roughly a third of creator Hours Watched.
Everwind and Trees Hate You generated the strongest engagement among the analyzed reveals. Everwind also produced the largest increase in chat activity compared with the preceding minutes.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster led positive audience sentiment, adding another standout reveal to the presentation's engagement results.
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct: Reveals that got fans talking
Nintendo’s official broadcasts accounted for around 68% of Hours Watched for the Zelda anniversary Direct. Creator coverage added a dispersed network of fan communities, with Puerta al Sótano, Domtendo and Miles “Maximilian_DOOD” Christiansen among the leading channels.
The strongest chat response came from the Ocarina replica and its audio-input demonstration, followed by the live-action Zelda movie reveal. Discussion during the Ocarina segment rose approximately 45% above the preceding five minutes, making it the presentation’s clearest local surge.
The anniversary presentation generated substantial discussion around reveals beyond traditional gameplay footage. The opening orchestral medley also ranked among the leading segments for positive audience sentiment.
Nintendo Direct September 2026: Kirby and Persona lead chat engagement
Nearly three-quarters of the September Direct’s Hours Watched came through official Nintendo broadcasts. Its creator coverage was spread across channels including Pekora Ch., Domtendo and ドコムスチャンネル, with no single creator channel commanding a large share.
Kirby and the World Beyond generated the strongest engagement, followed by Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6. One of the Persona reveals also produced the largest immediate increase in chat activity, rising around 41% above the preceding five minutes. Metroid Ravenous led the presentation's positive sentiment ranking.
BlizzCon 2026: Creator coverage and audience sentiment
Creator coverage contributed roughly two-thirds of BlizzCon 2026’s Hours Watched, with zackrawrr alone accounting for about one-eighth of creator viewing. Alongside channels such as Thomas “sodapoppin” Morris and Josh “Xaryu” Lujan, this made established streaming personalities an important part of how audiences experienced Blizzard’s announcements.
Within the sampled chats, Heroes of the Storm’s Xal’atath reveal and Diablo V generated the strongest engagement among eligible segments. Both also led after adjusting for audience size.
The StarCraft open-world shooter announcement generated the strongest positive sentiment among the analyzed BlizzCon reveals.
Gaming showcase engagement: How viewership compares with chat reactions

Kirby and the World Beyond recorded engagement 53% above the September Nintendo Direct's audience-adjusted benchmark, while Everwind also outperformed its showcase benchmark at Future Games Show.
By combining livestream viewership with chat engagement and sentiment analysis, Streams Charts helps publishers understand where showcase audiences gather, which creators amplify their reach, and which announcements generate the strongest reactions. These insights help teams evaluate showcase performance and identify creator communities for future campaigns.
