Streams Charts continues summarizing the results of Q2 2022. In the new article, we'll take a look at the top 100 most popular streamers (and their categories) of the German-language Twitch segment, as well as at the changes to their performance over the quarter.
Compared to the statistics of Q1 2022, Hours Watched of the top 100 German-speaking Twitch streamers decreased by 10.6%. Between April and June, top creators generated almost 156.9M Hours Watched, which makes 45.5% of the language segment’s total and 2.8% of the platform's total.
The top 100 German creators included 96 representatives of Germany, which were responsible for 96% of the Hours Watched for the entire group. The top 100 also includes two streamers from Turkey (Real_Bazzi and CPentagon), Shlorox from Switzerland, and Dracon from New Zealand.
Most popular German-speaking streamers on Twitch in Q2 2022
The most popular German-speaking creator on Twitch was once again eliasn97. In Q2 2022, his Hours Watched grew by 14%. In May, the streamer held a 24-hour charity broadcast, and in June he organized the Eligella Summer Games event, where he set a record for his channel in terms of Peak Viewers, gathering more than 193.8K of them. It was these activities that had the most positive impact on eliasn97's Hours Watched.
NoWay4u_Sir retained the second spot in the top, despite his Hours Watched dropping by 16% over the quarter. The indicator of MontanaBlack88 decreased even more: the streamer generated 22% fewer Hours Watched compared to Q1, and dropped to the fourth spot in the ranking. The third spot went Trymacs, which moved up one spot, as his Hours Watched dropped only by 6% over the quarter.
GRONKH held onto his fifth spot in the rankings despite the 18% drop in his indicator over the quarter. Nevertheless, the streamer's second channel, GronkhTV, dropped from the eighth to the ninth spot, losing 5% of Hours Watched.
Hours Watched of MckyTV grew by 28% over the quarter, with the streamer climbing from the tenth to the seventh spot. The indicator of Bonjwa decreased by 4%, which is why the creator closed the top 10. Meanwhile, Hours Watched of Dhalucard decreased by 44%, causing him to drop out of the top 10 streamers.
The newcomer to the segment’s leaderboard was abugoku9999. In Q2, the streamer's Hours Watched grew by 37%, while his Average Viewers grew by 46% during this period.
Most popular German-speaking female streamers on Twitch in Q2 2022
The most popular German-speaking female streamer of Q1, Sintica, lost 23% of Hours Watched in Q2 2022 and dropped to the third spot in the ranking. The first spot went to RevedTV, whose indicator increased by 46% over the quarter thanks to the 52% increase in airtime.
Hours Watched of HoneyPuu also showed strong growth (up 30%) allowing her to climb from the fourth to the second spot. The girl streamed the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial, which also caused her Average Viewers to grow by 26%.
Two newcomers to the top 10 German-speaking streamers are xFibii and Yvraldis. Hours Watched by both girls grew by more than 140% over the quarter. At the same time, xFibii held several extremely successful broadcasts on Valorant, setting a Peak Viewers record for her channel during one of them. Interestingly, the girl was periodically raided and hosted by streamers with several thousand viewers (for example, xRohat and starletnova) but the record-breaking stream featured not a single raid or host. On the other hand, Yvraldis achieved such indicators thanks to a more than triple increase in airtime.
Most popular German-speaking Twitch categories in Q2 2022
Just Chatting regained its title as the most popular category for the top 100 German-speaking streamers, pushing the Q1 leader (GTA V) to the second spot. Note that its Hours Watched grew by almost 17%, while the indicator of the Rockstar's game decreased by almost 29%.
League of Legends has moved up one spot in the rankings despite losing 20% of its Hours Watched. The indicator of Valorant grew by a whopping 154%, allowing the game to climb from the ninth to the fourth spot. The main promoters of the shooter in the language segment from April to June were eliasn97 and Trymacs. Closing the top 5 was Fortnite, which lost 56% of Hours Watched and dropped two spots in the ranking.
Newcomers to the top 10 are Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, Special Events, Slots, Call of Duty: Warzone. These categories pushed Lost Ark, Rust, Elden Ring, and F1 2021 out of the top 10.
It should be noted that Eligella Summer Games was the most popular event in the Special Events category, but the top also included Summer Game Fest broadcasts from the GRONKH channel. The main promoters of Slots in the German-speaking segment from April to June were Scurrows and orangemorange, while CoD: Warzone entered the top 10 thanks to MckyTV and MontanaBlack88.
Audience overlap of the most popular German-speaking streamers on Twitch
We analyzed the audience overlap of the top 5 most popular German-speaking streamers on Twitch for Q2 2022. It turned out that 62% and 60.6% of eliasn97's audience also happen to be Trymacs and MontanaBlack88 viewers. At the same time, the audience overlap of the segment’s most popular streamer and NoWay4u_Sir turned out to be the smallest: only 6.8%.
