Streams Charts completes a series of the top Twitch streamers from different regions’ overviews for Q1 2022. This time we will have a look at the most popular French-speaking Twitch streamers in January-March.
Note: the ranking does not take into account the statistics of the studios' channels and gaming communities.
Overall Statistics
In Q1 2022, viewers spent over 147.1 million hours watching the Top 100 French-speaking streamers, which is up 0.89% over Q4 2021. Top streamers accounted for over 44.1% of Hours Watched of the total by language, or 2.4% of the platform's total over the period.
The vast majority of streamers in the Top 100 are French (95). They accumulated 94.8% of the total Hours Watched number. The Top also includes two Belgians, a Swiss (Tonton), as well as streamers from Turkey (sub mid-laner of the Fnatic LoL roster — Nisqyy) and even Mexico (SkyrrozTV).
Most Watched French-Speaking Twitch Male Streamers In Q1 2022
The Top 10 streamers by language are exclusively French. The most watched creator is Kamel ‘Kamet0’ Kebir, the owner of the esports organization Karmine Corp. In three months, the streamer accumulated more than 9.4 million Hours Watched, which is 42% more than JLTomy, who ranks second by this metric.
Kamet0 also became the ranking leader by Peak Viewers: his LoL team's show-match against Spanish creator Ibai 'Ibai' Llanos' KOI team was watched by up to 196K Peak Viewers. Kamet0 had already set a new record for Peak Viewers on his channel in April, reaching 420K PV on the last day of the "pixel war" on Reddit.
Ponce, Sardoche, and Gotaga also made it into the Top 5 with 6-6.3 million Hours Watched. The latter streamer also attracted a big number of Peak Viewers: more than 100K PV watched the streamer competition Masterkill in Fortnite.
Along with the above-mentioned streamers, the Top 10 also includes chowh1, Domingo, ZeratoR, Locklear and Chap_GG. We should remind you that at the beginning of April ZeratoR held one of the most watched French streaming events in early 2022 — ZLAN 2022.
We also analyzed the total audience of the Top 5 French-speaking Twitch male streamers. We found that more than half of the viewers of each streamer also followed Gotaga streams (for example, over 62.7% of JLTomy's fans watched a Gotaga's broadcast at least once).
Aurélien ‘Ponce’ Gilles had the smallest audience overlap with other streamers. On average, from 19.3% to 31.7% of other creators' viewers watched his broadcasts.
Most Watched French-Speaking Twitch Female Streamers in Q1 2022
Seven female streamers made it to the Top 100. Among them, Team Vitality representative Marianne LittleBigWhale accumulated the most Hours Watched: 899.5K HW in the period from January to March.
It should be noted that she is just a little behind another French female streamer — Ultia, who accumulated 859.2K Hours Watched. At the same time Ultia became the leader among the female streamers by Peak Viewers: thanks to the raid from the joueur_du_grenier channel, her Sims 4 broadcast reached up to 19.3K Peak Viewers.
We can also note another French-speaking Twitch female streamer from the Top 100, Maghla, who became the leader by Average Viewers, attracting 3.3K people. Cruelladk spent the longest time on air among the French-speaking female streamers: in three months she streamed for over 685 hours.
Most Popular Categories
Just Chatting and League of Legends take 1st and 2nd places by a huge margin compared to the other categories, accumulating 21.9 million and 21.1 million Hours Watched, respectively. It should be noted that LoL in the region is a great success not only as a casual game, but also as an esports discipline — the local LFL attracts hundreds of thousands of viewers, largely thanks to Kamet0, who regularly covers the matches of his team Karmine Corp.
Grand Theft Auto V, which is in third place, amassed half as many Hours Watched as LoL — 10.3 million. Elden Ring, a February novelty, and Lost Ark, released in Europe and America, are also in the Top 5.
Besides the widely popular FIFA 22, CoD: Warzone and Fortnite, the mobile game Clash Royale as well as Teamfight Tactics, which rarely get into our rankings, made it into the Top 10 categories as well.
