Twitch chat and the activities within plays a significant part in determining how successful a streamer is and how well they communicate and engage with their audiences. Streams Charts has been collating chat activity and engagement rates every month, and with the first three months of the year gone, here are the most successful content creators for active users and engagement rates for Q1 2023.
Ten best Twitch streamers by audience engagement during Q1 2023
The audience engagement ratio is the percentage of active chatters to the total number of Unique Viewers of the channel. The more often viewers write in a chat during the broadcast, the higher this ratio is.
To compile the ranking, we have put certain restrictions: we analyzed only those channels that had more than 100K followers, more than 5K Average Viewers on broadcasts, and more than 100K messages on average across the first three months of the year.
Atop this list is drb7h, who did an engagement rate of 34.42% thanks to 116K Unique Authentic Viewers and 40K Active Chatters. He has continued to indulge in a lot of Grand Theft Auto V, which has undoubtedly helped his cause. This also helped him make the top three for January and March, contributing to Saudi Arabian’s ascension to the top of the quarterly standings.
In second place is Baiano, with an engagement rate of 32.66%, thanks to his presence in the top ten for all three months of this year. The former League of Legends pro has been an ever-present in the game’s broadcasting scene, and his vast number of followers love to catch up with the kind of quality content the Brazilian puts up regularly.
DougDoug, another with entries for all three leaderboards in quarter one this year, is third with a 32.42% engagement rate. He began the year by topping January’s list before continuing his consistent run over the next two months, mainly thanks to his constant gameplay of the ever-popular game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Another popular name and a regular on such lists, AgustinUnaplay8, comes in fourth with an engagement rate of 32.34%. Considering Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil 4 were his two main games played over the past 30 days, it is safe to say he was able to engage a lot with zombie-genre fans, of who there are many.
Rounding off the top five is SnikWins with a 30.66% engagement rate, despite not being active for the entirety of March and April. The Greek broadcaster owes most of these high interaction numbers to the fact that he played a lot of slots on his streams, now an out-of-bounds practice on the purple platform, which also explains his recent absence.
Rounding off the last five entries on this top ten list are familiar names like tioorochitwitch, LACOBRAAA, PaymoneyWubby, tommyinnit, and YoungMulti. It is an amalgamation of content creators popular for funny reaction videos, Minecraft gameplay, sports streaming, etc., and coming from countries like the UK, Poland, and Argentina.
Ten best Twitch streamers by Active Chatters during Q1 2023
Number one on this list, unsurprisingly, is Kai Cenat, whose mafiathon that lasted a month earlier this year made him a household name and one of the newest megastars on Twitch. He achieved a massive 675K Active Chatters over the first three months of the year, and the 21-year-old has continued to broadcast live consistently to capitalize on his newfound fame, which even earned him the Streamer of the Year gong at The Streamer Awards 2023.
Following the American in second is ElSpreen, one of the biggest Spanish-speaking streamers globally. In fact, four of the top five names on this list are Hispanic, alluding to their massively over presence on Twitch over the past couple of years. The Argentinean, interestingly, has been busy playing a lot of Minecraft and Roblox over the last 30 days, apart from the Just Chatting streams.
One of the two women on this list, and perhaps one of the most popular female content creators outside North America, rivers_gg, is third. She has been one of the fastest-growing influencers since the beginning of 2022, and this year has truly seen the Call of Duty fan come to the party as a bonafide Twitch star.
Coming in fourth is ElMariana, a key cog of QSMP, Quackity's newest project which is also the first-ever multilingual Minecraft Survival multiplayer server. The Mexican has also been busy playing Resident Evil 4 and Call of Duty: Warzone, with both games guaranteed to bring in a healthy number of viewers.
In the fifth position is juansguarnizo, who has been steadily climbing up the charts and recently became the latest Twitch influencer to reach 10M+ followers. The Colombian is another who relies on his sports broadcasts to bring in audiences, alongside playing popular titles like Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Rounding off the last five names on this list are hugely-famous names like xqc, amouranth, robleis, auronplay, and paulinholokobr. They are famous for content in games like Rocket League and Project Zomboid, with the name in seventh being one of the leaders of the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches genre.
