On December 7, QTCinderella will host the annual Streamer Awards 2024, joined by special guests, to celebrate the achievements of the fellow creators. The ceremony will announce winners in 27 categories, including "Streamer of the Year", "Game of the Year" and more.
Winners of the Streamer Awards 2024 will be determined by a combined public and jury vote, with top streamers and content creators like Kai Cenat, iShowSpeed, Ibai, Caedrel, Jynxzi, and other livestreaming stars in the running.
Streams Charts highlights the most exciting categories and spotlights the streamers who have made major strides this year. In 2024, many of them set personal (and global!) records for viewership, hosted successful subathons, and became leading community casters for major esports games.
Streamer of the Year
Five streamers are competing for Streamer of the Year title, including Kai Cenat, a two-time winner of the Streamer Awards in previous years.
Kai Cenat has been incredibly active throughout 2024: he hosted two hugely successful subathons, each time breaking Twitch’s subscription records. This year, Kai is once again the most watched U.S. streamer on the platform, running marathons in Sekiro, Elden Ring, and Red Dead Redemption 2. He also teamed up with iShowSpeed to complete Chained Together and Minecraft in hardcore mode, and did collaborative streams with actor Kevin Hart and YouTuber MrBeast. Notably, Kai has the best stats among all the nominees in terms of average viewers per stream and total watch hours. If the winner was determined solely by viewer numbers, Kai would be the clear favorite.
IShowSpeed also had an amazing year, and solidified himsels as one of the most prominent U.S. streamers on both Twitch and YouTube. IShowSpeed had two major international tours in 2024: in the summer, he traveled across Europe and attended the Euro 2024 matches, and in the fall, he visited several countries in Southeast Asia, throwing massive fan events. His most recent tour was especially successful — he broke his personal peak viewer record (over 1.04 million PV, the best ever for English-speaking streamers) and surpassed 30 million followers on YouTube.
Caedrel has cemented his place as one of the top English-speaking League of Legends streamers. For the whole year, he’s been a go-to option for many to watch LEC, LCS, and LCK. Recently, he became the most-watched community caster at the 2024 World Championship, surpassing popular streamers like ibai, Baiano, and Kamet0. He also set multiple records for Peak Viewers, more than doubling his best result from 2023. Without Caedrel’s influence, the 2024 Worlds may not have reached the new viewership milestone it did.
While PirateSoftware and Emiru haven’t made as many headlines this year, they still have plenty to be proud of. PirateSoftware became the first Twitch streamer to hit 100 Hype Train levels and the first to unlock the KappaInfinite emote. Emiru had a fantastic year too, with many fun streams alongside her OTK Network colleagues. In late October, she hosted a highly-anticipated Hallowen Party, setting a new peak viewership record for her channel.
Gamer of the Year
The Gamer of the Year category features a diverse mix of streamers, so the competition for this award is shaping up to be both exciting and unpredictable. When it comes to variety in gaming content, the clear leader is CaseOh — he played over 250 different games this year (nearly five times more than Kai Cenat). CaseOh has an impressive level of versatility, and few streamers can match it when it comes to game selection.
Clix and TenZ may not offer the same variety in terms of games, but they’re nominated not just as streamers, but also as professional players. Clix is a Fortnite pro and currently the most popular community caster for the battle royale title. He’s had strong finishes in the FNCS 2024 majors and also competed in the FNCS 2024 Global Championship, the biggest Fortnite tournament of the year. TenZ, on the other hand, won VCT 2024: Masters Madrid with Sentinels and placed fourth at VALORANT Champions 2024. He’s since stepped down from the team and fully transitioned into a streamer and community caster for Valorant tournaments.
Jynxzi is once again vying for the top spot in a category he’s won before. In 2024, Jynxzi regularly covered major Rainbow Six tournaments, but he also organized several of his own events. He hosted a series of show matches in R6 with popular streamers like Lacy, Sketch, and Kai Cenat, and even organized the Jynxzi R6 World Cup, featuring teams from around the world.
And then there’s Kai Cenat. While he’s typically known as a top Just Chatting streamer, his gaming background is no poor either. According to Streams Charts, in 2024, Kai generated over 53 million Hours Watched in gaming categories alone (excluding Just Chatting, IRL, I'm Only Sleeping, etc.): that’s more than CaseOh, TenZ, and Clix. Kai’s gaming streams are known for their immersive setups, complete with costumes and props, and he’s one of those streamers who rarely leaves a game unfinished. If he starts a marathon, you can bet he’ll see it through to the end.
Stream Game of the Year
2024 might not have been a huge year for major game releases, but there’s still plenty of excitement in the Game of the Year category. One of the top contenders is Elden Ring — the winner of the Streamer Awards 2023, and now back in the spotlight thanks to its highly successful DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. On release day, streams of Elden Ring generated over 10 million Hours Watched, with more than 17,000 channels tuning in at peak — far outpacing the other nominees.
The main challenger to Elden Ring is likely to be Black Myth: Wukong, another Action/RPG. Developed by Game Science, the game boasts stunning visuals, an immersive atmosphere, fun gameplay, and an intriguing story. It’s already one of the year’s biggest success stories. The trend of streaming Black Myth: Wukong quickly spread beyond Twitch, with streamers on YouTube, NimoTV, Kick, and other platforms joining the hypetrain.
Tekken 8 has quickly become a fan-favorite in the fighting game scene. It was especially well-received in Japan, where it set a record for peak viewership at EVO tournaments held in the country. Tekken 8 also regularly appeared in streamer tournaments, including Twitch Rivals.
One of the most unique releases of the year was Chained Together, a cooperative platformer from Anegar Games. The game was practically made for streaming, designed to test streamers' nerves while giving viewers plenty of exciting moments. In Chained Together, teamwork is essential: players are entirely dependent on their partners, making communication a key part of the experience. Streamers like KaiCenat and iShowSpeed even took it a step further during their co-op playthroughs by literally chaining themselves together to get fully immersed in the game.
Best International Streamer
The Best International Streamer category is stacked with some of the biggest names in live streaming. Spanish streamer Ibai set new records in 2024, drawing over 3.84 million Peak Viewers for his boxing event La Velada del Año IV — that's more than the population of countries like Lithuania or Albania.
German streamer Papaplatte earned his place in the running this year, with his total watch hours rising by 36% and average viewers per stream up by 62%. With these numbers, he’s finally overtaken eliasn97 to become the most-watched streamer in Germany. Throughout the year, Papaplatte kept audiences entertained with everything from IRL streams and road trip adventures like EDELTOUR 3.0, to XXL challenges, Minecraft marathons, and more.
One standout in this category is Fps_Shaka, one of Japan’s top gaming streamers. It’s impossible to picture the Japanese live-streaming scene without him. He’s everywhere: streaming Valorant tournaments, jumping into show matches with VTubers, hosting Minecraft and GTA V marathons, organizing the LEGENDUS Street Fighter 6 tournament, and more. In April, he even became an official streamer for the esports org Natus Vincere and covered their journey at the Esports World Cup 2024.
Aminematue ran the most-watched French stream on Twitch in 2024. In October, he streamed a charity football match between content creators from Spain and France, hitting over 990K Peak Viewers. Now, he’s in the top three most popular French streamers on Twitch in terms of peak viewership and followers, and he’s become the go-to French ambassador for football content on the platform.
As we mentioned earlier, IShowSpeed has also had a huge year. He’s one of the few creators in 2024 who actively sought to expand his audience in new regions. His IRL tours across Europe and Southeast Asia sparked plenty of buzz within the community and became a model for other streamers. Sometimes, you discover an audience where you least expect it — who would’ve thought that IShowSpeed’s biggest stream of the year would come from a casual walk through Indonesia?
Best Content Organization / Group
The Best Content Team category is shaping up to be an exciting one, with OTK Network standing out as a major contender. Not only has OTK led in total watch hours, but they’ve also shown remarkable consistency throughout the year. The team has consistently ranked in the top 10 most-watched on Twitch every month, and by the end of 2024, they could even break into the top 5. OTK streamers have kept fans entertained with a range of impressive events, with the standout being the OTK Game Expo 2024.
FaZe has had a rough few years, facing financial struggles, a dip in stock prices, controversies, and the exit of key members like NateHil, Sway, Agony, Rain, and others. However, in early 2024, FaZe announced a full reboot of the organization to start fresh. While it’s still early days, it seems the team is slowly finding its footing again. FaZe is still a major name in live streaming, and in September, its members held a massive subathon that helped JasonTheWeen become the most-subscribed Asian creator on Twitch. By the end of Q3, FaZe claimed the top spot for the most-watched esports organization on Twitch, with 34.5 million Hours Watched. What’s even more impressive is that FaZe did this with just 13 active channels.
VShojo, the VTuber team, has seen impressive growth in 2024, increasing its total HW by 36% compared to last year. This boost has landed VShojo in the top 7 among all Twitch talent agencies. Leading the team is ironmouse, a popular Puerto Rican VTuber. In October, she held a charity subathon and broke Kai Cenat’s record for active subscriptions. However, her record was short-lived, as Kai soon reclaimed his spot at the top.
AMP (Any Means Possible) is an American content group that focuses on IRL challenges and gaming. While Kai Cenat is the biggest star in the group, AMP also includes streamers like Fanum, Agent00, Duke, and others. The interesting thing about AMP is that they’re branching out into other areas beyond live streaming. In August 2024, they released a collaborative hip-hop album called Amp Cypher 2024, which featured popular American actor Kevin Hart.
The Streamer Awards 2024 ceremony will take place on December 7 in Los Angeles. The live stream, where the winners will be announced, will be broadcast on QTCinderella’s Twitch channel. You can find more details about the voting process and the full list of categories here.
